Over the past several years, the association has accumulated a fair amount of airline memorabilia, most of it specific to Allegheny/USAir or USAirways. We want to thank Oz Lamond, and Barbara Pressley for their generous donation of many of these items. Most of the items that Barbara donated came from Dan Friel's collection.
Our President, Capt. Joe Kernan is in possession of most of these items. Instead of Capt. Kernan hauling these items back and forth to our Florida convention, we are setting up an online auction here. All proceeds from the auctioning of these items will go to the Soaring Eagles Save Our Stinson Fund (SOS) for the restoration of an original Stinson Reliant that was used in the airmail pick Up.
As of April 23 the high bids are as follows:>
$110.00 for the Lake Central DC-3
$100.00 for the USAirways Flag
$500.00 for the Allegheny DC-3
$450.00 for the Allegheny Convair 580
We will attempt to update the latest high bids as soon as possible, but unlike some of the online auction sites, we cannot update in real time. So bid accordingly!
Thanks to the generosity of F/O Thomas Trautman of Republic Airlines, we have this beautiful handmade mahogany model of a Lake Central DC 3 to offer for auction. Although Thomas flies for Republic, he grew up around USAir, and wanted to contribute to the cause. The bidding for this beautiful model will open at $100.00 dollars and will close at noon on May 17, 2021.
This is an opportunity for those who began their Airline Careers at Lake Central to have a piece of that history.
